Zac is a Managing Principal and Vice President of Land Planning and Design Associates (LPDA) overseeing the Washington D.C. Metro areas office since 2007. Under Zac’s tenure, LPDA has grown in market share expanding its portfolio of services throughout the Mid-Atlantic from New Jersey into the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, building an extensive list of private Clients and expanding the firms presence with municipal Clients.

Zac’s office serves in an active consulting role representing development Clients from initial concepts through design, entitlements, construction documents and administration.

The Metro Area’s office of LPDA has designed and supported over 25 million dollars of landscape architecture construction since 2012 and has over 4,500 residential units in various levels of entitlement and construction for its private Clients. LPDA has also completed a number of parks and recreation, trail, defense and urban design projects for municipal Clients, assisting a number of them in successfully obtaining grant funding to facilitate their work. This blend of work and Clients is a part of the firm’s commitment of designing ‘Places for People’, a commitment we have held since our firm founding in 1971.

Zac has served as an expert witness on a number of zoning cases in Virginia and Maryland. He has also been a featured speaker for the Virginia Chapter of the American Planning Association, the Virginia Tech – Washington Alexandria Architecture Center (WAAC) and for West Virginia University’s Landscape Architecture Program. From 2012 to 2014, he co-chaired the Continuing Education Committee for the Executive Committee of the Potomac ASLA Chapter as Virginia was first requiring continuing education credits (CEUs) for Registered Landscape Architects and associated professionals. Zac serves as a member of the Loudoun County Design Cabinet.

Education / Registration

Zac holds a Bachelors of Science in Landscape Architecture from West Virginia University in 2001, is a licensed landscape architect in Virginia and Maryland.

Professional Organizations

Zac is an active member of the American Society of Landscape Architects,  serving as an at-large member of the Executive Committee of the Potomac ASLA where he is the Chairman of Continuing Education Programs. He is also a member of the Loudoun County Economic Development Authority’s Design Cabinet and actively involved in a steering committee for WVU’s landscape architecture program.
