Dixon Street Park is a new, public recreational park facility for the City of Fredericksburg, Virginia. LPDA developed a comprehensive Master Plan for this park. Primary program items included the development of active recreation playing fields for soccer, lacrosse, field hockey.
A major feature as part of the facility includes a community recreation center and a municipal swimming pool. The park is located adjacent to the Mayfield neighborhood and provides direct connections to the residential area. Additionally, the park is close to the Rappahannock River and a trail systems is provided from the park to the river edge. The river trail system will ultimately connect to Downtown Fredericksburg. Construction was completed in 2005.
